Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What filters do I need to start using Spectro-Chrome at home?

A: You'll need a set of Spectro-Chrome filters: The Dinshah Health Society is currently using the following Roscolene filters to produce the desired Attuned color waves:

  1. Red: 818,828

  2. Orange: 809, 828

  3. Yellow: 809

  4. Lemon: 809, 871

  5. Green: 871

  6. Turquoise: 861, 871

  7. Blue: 859, 866

  8. Indigo: 866, 866 (2x)

  9. Violet: 818, 859, 866

  10. Purple: 832, 866

  11. Magenta: 818, 828, 866

  12. Scarlet: 810, 818, 861

Q: What kind of light should I use with the Spectro-Chrome filters?

A: Various light sources--from lanterns to sunlight, and anything in between--have been used effectively. While there's considerable research on the effectiveness of LED's, the Dinshah Health Society recommends using incandescent or halogen incandescent bulbs. These bulbs provide a continuous spectrum of light that closely resembles natural sunlight--something most LED's, flourescents, and so-called "full-spectrum" bulbs lack. Further, the precision of the light is dependent on the quality of the light rather than the quantity, so any 25w, 40w, 60w incandescent or halogen-incandescent bulb will work great.

Tip: I purchased a par-38 lighting fixture with filter frame (optional barn doors) and a light stand for under $60usd. Incandescent or halogen incandescent bulbs cost under $5usd and can be found at your local lighting or hardware store. A budget friendly option is a 60w incandescent portable work light for about $11 usd at your local hardware store.

Q: Do I need to buy everything before starting the course?

A: While it's not a technical requirement to begin the course with all materials in hand, the course was created with the intention of teaching you how to apply the Spectro-Chrome Technique in a practical, hands-on way. In order to fully engage with the course and begin practicing at home, you will need to purchase the necessary equipment--this includes a light fixture, a compatible light bulb, and the specific Roscolene filters used in the system. You're welcome to watch the modules first and gather the equipment as you go, but having the equipment ready will allow you to learn by doing, which is at the heart of the experience

Q: How much does the full setup cost?

A: All setup options require the set of 12 Roscolene filters, which costs about $59.95 plus shipping and handling. From there, your total cost depends on the light source you choose.

If you already have a desk lamp that fits an incandescent or halogen incandescent bulb, you'll just need to purchase the incandescent or halogen incandescent bulb which is under $5 USD, then you'll have to create a simple DIY solution to hold the filters and adjust the light, keeping your costs minimal.

If you don't have a light, a clamp light is a budget-friendly option and usually costs around $11 USD at most hardware stores.

For a more professional setup, you can use a stage light like a PAR 38 with a built-in filter holder. I purchased mine for about $20, and added an adjustable light stand for around $30. More advanced stage lights are available if you prefer, but they're not required.

I hope these examples help clarify your price options.

Q: Where can I purchase the correct Roscolene filters to practice Spectro-Chrome and is there a kit I can purchase for convenience?

A: You can find the appropriate Roscolene filters used in the Spectro-Chrome system through several online dealers. A good way to start is by searching "Dinshah Health Society Roscolene Filters"--this typically brings up reputable sources that carry the correct set. I personally purchased my filters from:

https://productsondemand.biz/product/combo-b-let-there-be-light-book-bestseller/

I personally verified the filter numbers with the Dinshah Health Society, and the Roscolene numbers listed in the previous answer have been confirmed accurate as of March 2025. This ensures you'll be working with the correct attuned color waves recommended for Spectro-Chrome applications. Lastly, the link includes a light and the book, "Let There Be Light", for your convenience. The complete kit costs $106.95 USD. Other bundle options are available.

Getting Started

Spectro-Chrome Practice

Q: How long should each Spectro-Chrome session be?

A: According to the Spectro-Chrome Metry Encyclopedia by Dinshah P. Ghadiali, light sessions—referred to as “tonations”—should last one hour. However, in Let There Be Light, his son Darius Ghadiali notes that 30-minute tonations can also be beneficial.

So, to answer more technically: if you choose to follow the original Spectro-Chrome Technique, a one-hour tonation is recommended. That said, 30-minute sessions have been found to be effective as well, especially when time or personal circumstances call for flexibility.

Q: How often can I apply Spectro-Chrome colors on my body?

A: For most situations, Spectro-Chrome tonations are best applied once during the day and once in the afternoon or evening in accordance with the Forecast times based on your latitude and longitude. This routine provides consistent support for addressing a wide range of symptoms and allows the body time to absorb and respond to the effects of the attuned color waves.

It’s important not to apply tonations back-to-back. There should be at least a 3-hour gap between sessions to ensure proper integration. Unless you're dealing with an extreme condition—such as third-degree burns over a significant portion of the body—this two-session-per-day rhythm is considered the standard approach within the Spectro-Chrome system.

Q: Do I need to apply the light and color on my bare skin?

A: Yes, the Spectro-Chrome Technique requires that the attuned color wave shine directly on your bare skin. For the color frequencies to interact effectively with the body, you’ll need to expose the specific area you wish to tonate. Thin clothing, blankets, or other materials can block or distort the intended wavelengths, so direct exposure is important for optimal results.

Q: Can I apply more than one color in a single day?

A: Yes, you can apply more than one color in a single day. In fact, the Spectro-Chrome system recommends using different colors based on the time of day. The infra colors—ranging from Red to Green—are more stimulating and are best used during the day, while the ultra colors—from Green to Violet—are more calming and are ideal for use in the afternoon or evening.

That said, only one color should be used per tonation, and no more than two tonations per day are recommended. While there is a method called Duo Chrome, which involves using more than one color during a single session, this is a separate approach and is not part of the standard Spectro-Chrome Technique as taught in this course.

Q: Is it safe to use Spectro-Chrome on children, pets, or the elderly?

A: Yes, Spectro-Chrome is considered safe for use on people of all ages, including children, pets, and the elderly. The system was carefully developed by Dinshah Ghadiali, who understood the importance of working within a safe range in dealing with radiant energy. He designed Spectro-Chrome to use attuned color waves that fall within the 49th octave of the electromagnetic spectrum—the range in which visible light appears.

Dinshah specifically avoided wavelengths found below the 49th octave (infra) and above it (ultra), as these can be potentially harmful if exposed over a period of time. By keeping all tonations within the visible spectrum, the system remains non-invasive, with no negative side effects and no medications required. This thoughtful design makes Spectro-Chrome a gentle and safe wellness modality for people and animals alike.
